Garden Cottage F172
Maclean Lake, Coldwater, South Muskoka, Ontario

If you are searching for a cottage with lots of sleeping and living space, a large lot to explore, nearby crown land, and access to boating on the Trent-Severn River System, this may be the cottage for you.

Garden Cottage is located on Maclean Lake, near the community of Coldwater.  The cottage has a large level lot with plenty of space for a game of ball.  Mature trees provide shade, perennial gardens add beauty, and an herb garden will add a gourmet touch to meal preparations.

The main level of the cottage has a large, fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, stove, fridge, and microwave. A dining table seats eight to ten, with views of the lake through patio doors that open to a long deck that extends across the front of the cottage and overlooks the lake. Additional seating is provided at a second table in the separate dining room.  A spacious living area on this level has lake views, satellite television and an exit to the deck. Nearby, the large master bedroom also has a patio door that leads out to the deck.  This bedroom’s ensuite 3-piece bathroom has a shower that is handicap-accessible.  Two more bedrooms on the main level hold a twin bed in each.  Two cots are provided in the event that small children need accommodation in sleeping.  Also on this level there is a second, three-piece bathroom and a laundry room.

The upper level of the cottage has three additional bedrooms.  One is very large, has windows facing the lake, a queen-sized bed, and a four-piece ensuite.  A second bedroom has a double bed, and the third holds a twin.  Also on this level is a three-piece bathroom with tub-surround.

The lower level of the cottage has a second, spacious living area with comfortable furniture, satellite television, view of the lake, and access to the yard and lake through a patio door..   On this level there are two bedrooms, one with a double bed and access to the yard, the second with two twins.  An additional bathroom is a three-piece with shower.

On the lake side of the cottage, steps lead down the gradual slope, past colorful perennial gardens, to the lake.  The entrance into the lake is shallow and deepens gradually.  The depth at the end of the dock is about four feet, so is too shallow for diving.

For those who bring a motor boat, Garden Cottage has access to the Trent-Severn River system and is close to Lock # 45 and Big Chute Lock and Marine Railway.  A boat launch is less than five minutes from the cottage.   Fishing is good, both summer and winter, on Maclean Lake.

Across the road from the cottage is undeveloped Crown Land with extensive multi-use trails to explore.  Within half an hour of the cottage are the ski hills of Mount St. Louis- Moonstone, and Horseshoe Valley, and Hardwood Hills is nearby for cross-country skiing.

Come and enjoy!
