Tasso Treasure
Cottage F176
Tasso Lake, Huntsville, Muskoka, Ontario.
Situated on a south-facing shore of lovely Tasso Lake, with great swimming and clean, clear water, Tasso Treasure is a place to “get away from it all” and relax with nature. A large dock area offers all-day sun and wonderful sunset views, and the property is well treed property for shade on hot days.
The compact A-frame cottage is a renovated 1960's cottage - not a modern 'house' but an old-fashioned cottage ready to have kids run around with bare feet! There are three small bedrooms (two up and one down), a well-equipped kitchen with dishwasher, a three-piece bathroom, a laundry room with dryer (clothesline option as well), and a small living area with windows that extend across the front of the cottage and face the lake. The bedroom on the main level has a queen bed, while the upper bedrooms have a king bed (two twin beds pushed together) and a single bed. Recently renovated and trimmed in lovely pine, the cottage is light-filled, comfortable and inviting. The cottage is equipped with Scrabble, Monopoly, puzzles for quieter times.
Additional sleeping options are available in the bunkie beside the main cottage. Here there are two queen bunks and a loveseat. A third building on the property belongs to the owner who will not be using it while the property is rented out. That building is off limits to vacationers.
The cottage lot is level where it surrounds the buildings, and has about twenty sturdy steps leading down to the waterfront. The entrance to the lake is shallow from the dock, with a firm sand bottom and no weeds. The lake deepens gradually so that the depth is about 7 feet at the end of the dock. There are two docks (one floating and one fixed) that are both 12 x16 feet. Dive into the lake from the end of the dock, or sit and enjoy a morning cup of coffee or cooling drink while taking in the wonderful lake and sunset views. A paddleboat is provided for exploring or fishing, and the canoe may be used to explore the many bays and undeveloped shores of the long, narrow lake. This quiet lake does not get swells and is perfect for young boaters. If a motor boat is brought to the cottage, there is a boat launch nearby and there is room to moor a boat using the boat whips provided on the dock.
In close proximity to world-famous Algonquin Park, a vacation at Tasso Treasure offers a good chance of seeing a moose in one of the bays, or hearing a loon call, owl hoot, or even wolf howl, or perhaps of catching a glimpse of a beaver or otter on the lake.
Nearby Huntsville is a destination for groceries, good restaurants, live theatre, a hospital, the Muskoka Pioneer Village, and the hiking trails of Algonquin Park are less than an hour away.
