If you are looking for serene contemplation, re-energization, and maybe an artistic inspiration or two, this summer home is just the perfect place for you.
Owned by an international artist, this three bedroom lakeside retreat has all the amenities and comforts of home, and yet is so secluded that you hear only the loons and frogs. This retreat is at the end of a long winding country road, and is treasured by its owner for its peace and quiet.
Perched on the edge of Three Mile Lake, which is near Lake Muskoka and Rosseau, this cottage makes an ideal location for a busy executive, writer, artist or poet, with its large windows facing the lake, its spacious deck with patio table, and its lakeside deck with Muskoka chairs at the lake’s edge.
“Inspiration” is a two-storey cottage conveniently located between Bala and Bracebridge, which is the hub of Muskoka. The main floor features a two-piece bathroom, an open fully equipped kitchen adjacent to the living room that offers a glass dining table for 6, a flat screen television with satellite service. It is tastefully decorated with antique furniture providing a more unique artistic atmosphere. A walk-out door takes you to a Muskoka sunroom from where you can enjoy the beautiful lake view.
A large deck surrounds the main floor with wheelchair access through the sunroom and a second access from the living room side door. This deck is furnished with a propane barbeque and a dining table for 8, perfect for a relaxing summer afternoon.
The second storey has a 4-piece marble and ceramic bathroom that is shared by 2 bedrooms. One of the bedrooms is fully furnished with a double bed, and closet. The main (second) bedroom has a queen bed, a closet and an antique dresser. A walk-out door connects the bedroom with a balcony from where you can enjoy the beautiful view of Three Mile Lake.
The basement features the artist’s suite with a 3-piece bathroom, and it is furnished with a double bed, a desk and a sofa. Large windows, with a view of the lake, allow natural light to enter the suite bringing peace and tranquility.
The utility room is located at the other end of the suite. Some of the artist’s paintings decorate the walls for you to gaze at and admire, and maybe inspire yourself. The utility room itself is the artist’s workshop. Her tools, nicely placed in this area, will give you an artistic feeling of comfort.
The beautiful garden at the front yard connects the summer home to the rocky and sandy waterfront. There is a pine wood deck at the edge of the water where four additional folding chairs are available for you to sit and relax while admiring the beauty and tranquility of Three Mile Lake. This property is not ideal for young children due to the extensive art work throughout the cottage.
