This cozy four-season cottage on the picturesque Magnetawan River Canoe-Kayak Route leading all the way to Georgian Bay is a perfect vacation retreat at an affordable price. A peaceful spot to take in picturesque views of the area’s natural beauty perched above the waterfront.
The open concept kitchen, dining and living rooms, with warm pine walls, look out onto the river which has more of a lake feel because of its size and width. There is a fully equipped kitchen with fridge, stove, microwave, and dishwasher. The living space has an attractive dining table that can seat six people, a wall mounted smart TV and comfortable reclining couches, making it the perfect gathering place rain or shine. For added comfort, the cottage also has central heating and cooling.
The cottage will sleep 4 adults and 2 children with three charming bedrooms, two featuring queen beds and the third a single over double bunk bed. Off the living room is a spacious 4 piece bathroom and a stackable washer and dryer.
Start your mornings off on the expansive deck, cup of coffee in hand, savoring the views and sounds of unspoiled nature. A large barbeque and patio furniture are perfect for an outdoor meal or loosen up the muscles in the hot tub beside the deck (from May to Thanksgiving). With southwestern exposure, enjoy both basking in the sun during the long summer days and being spoiled at night by lovely lingering sunsets.
The cottage waterfront is ideal for a young family. The grassy shoreline features an ideal shallow water entry and there is also a ladder is provided for easy water access from the dock, (the river bed is clay). With lots of room to play, explore or roast marshmallows over the fire pit by the water this area is sure to be a hit for active, adventurous children. A canoe, kayak and paddle boat are available for a leisurely river tour. Please note that the walk from the cottage to the river's edge is sloped and may be challenging for anyone with mobility issues.
Fishing in the area is fantastic! Largemouth and smallmouth bass, rock bass, pickerel and pike can be found in abundance. Forget the boat, plenty of fish have been caught right off the 20’ dock.
Just steps from the cottage are a small park with swings and a volleyball court, scenic nature trails - great for hiking, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. Snowmobile and ATV trails are also nearby for year-round fun.
Located a short distance away is the town of Dunchurch where you can find groceries, gas, propane, ice, LCBO, and the renown Kawartha Dairy ice cream. Within 20 minutes are some fabulous eateries, like Tanner’s English Pub and the ever popular Swiss Country House. It’s time to sit back, relax and enjoy!
**Check-in: after 4:00pm and Check-out: before 10:00am
**Paper products: The cottage will provide enough to get you started, but vacationers must supply their own, including toilet paper and paper towels.
**Drinking water: Water tested poitable in 2022. There is also a 19L water jug dispenser provided, if you prefer to bring water.
** Linens: Guests are required to bring the following linens - sheets, pillowcases and all towels.
**Outdoor chairs: Guests to bring portable chairs for use at the waterfront.
**Adult life jackets are supplied. Vacationers must bring their own children's life jackets due to safety and liability concerns.
