Ontario Cottage Rentals

Location: Bass Lake, near Orillia, Ontario.

This spacious 2,000 square foot open-concept cottage will provide your group with ample space to spread out. The cottage has been newly built and the windows give you a wonderful view of Bass Lake.

One of the most appealing aspects of this location is the ideal waterfront. The level lot gives you easy access to the sandy beach area, which leads you into a gradual shallow entry. The lake bottom is a firm sand base. This location will be appreciated by youngsters and grandparents alike and is very child friendly. Zebra mussels are occasionally found in lakes in this area, so as a precaution the owners suggest you bring water shoes. The clear lake will be inviting on those warm days and you will want to be spending your time down at this wonderful waterfront. Take the canoe or paddleboat out to explore Bass Lake. This 4 km by 2 km, pear-shaped lake is spring fed, and bass, perch and sunfish can be caught here. There is a 3 x 20 foot dock.At the front of the cottage there is a large flat grassy area that offers a great spot for playing soccer or frisbee.

This cottage offers a wonderful working kitchen with lots of counter top. There are three bedrooms, the first has a queen-size bed, the second has a double and a single bed, a queen-size bed is in the third bedroom. Upstairs in the bright and open loft area there is a TV and air hockey game for the children to enjoy on rainy days and there is also ample space in the downstairs living room to relax beside the wood stove. Better yet, have an outdoor campfire at the waterfront fire pit. Firewood must be purchased locally.

You are sure to enjoy the massive 10 x 60 foot deck that runs along the front and side of the cottage. You can dine al fresco or use the deck as a dance floor as you soak up the rays.

While there is no washer and dryer at this cottage, laundromats can be found in the town of Orillia, which is only 8 minutes away. After all, you are on holidays; drop your laundry off and have it folded for you for a minimal fee. Orillia offers many other amenities, so you have the best of both worlds: the privacy of waterfront accommodation and the amenities of a larger center. Mountain biking is available at Horseshoe Valley and Hardwood Hills, which are both about 15 minutes away. Casino Rama is only 25 minutes away. This cottage is available year round and for the winter enthusiasts, you are also very close to both downhill and cross country skiing.

There is always something to do at Stillwaters Cottage, no matter what season it may be! For the winter enthusiasts cross country ski trails are within 20 minutes at Hardwood Hills. Down hill skiing can be found at Horseshoe Valley, or Snow Valley both within a thirty minute drive.
