Majestically situated on a large private 1.5 acre lot in a quiet secluded bay on Lake of Bays, this Confederation log cottage offers it all: an inviting front porch, bright open-concept living room with floor-to-ceiling fireplace, hardwood floors, a large 4-season Muskoka room with access to a deck, loft family room, a fantastic working kitchen, and a games room complete with pool/ping pong table. Hideaway in the Bay is located on a year-round road, not far from Huntsville and Algonquin Park. This cottage residence features 3 bedrooms. The master bedroom on the main level offers a queen size bed, view of the lake and walkout to a deck. The second bedroom on the top floor provides two double beds and a view of the lake, and the third bedroom on the lower level is equipped with a double bed. A king-size pullout day bed in the games room offers additional sleeping space. A 4-piece bathroom complete with Jacuzzi tub is located on the top floor, and a 3-piece bathroom with a shower is provided on the main level.
Meals you have prepared in the well-equipped kitchen (Jenn-air cook top/griddle, convection oven) or on the barbeque, can be enjoyed in the dining room or at the table on the deck overlooking the lake. Curl up with a good book in the loft family room, or watch TV or a video in the comfortable Muskoka room.
A new staircase leads to a lower deck for sunning, reading, barbequing, or simply soaking up the view. For evening entertainment, there is a fire pit, perfect for toasting marshmallows. Stone steps over a gentle slope lead to a path to a new u-shaped dock which provides a ladder for accessing the water. From the dock you can swim, explore the bay in the canoe provided, fish, watch for the bay’s resident blue heron, or simply enjoy the magnificent view of Vimy Ridge Island and the lake and islands beyond. If you bring your own motor boat, it can be launched at Haystack Bay Marina a short distance away, and moored at the large cottage dock.
Cruise the Lake of Bays by boat and visit the antique shops in Baysville, the famous Robinson’s General Store in Dorset, and the beach in Dwight. For the golfer, there is the course on nearby Bigwin Island, as well as many other courses in the area.
Come, relax and enjoy!
