LeGare’s Vila is a great cottage for a family vacation. Located in a sheltered bay on the shore of pretty Lake Manitouwaba, this cottage has lots of room for children to run about outside, a sandy beach on which to play, and a 20 by 20 foot screened Muskoka Room that has a wonderful view of the waterfront.
There are three bedrooms in the cottage, one with a double bed, the second with a double bed and a unique three-bunk bed, and the third with a king-sized bed. There is one three-piece bathroom with a shower. Tongue-and-groove pine on the walls and ceilings give the rooms warmth and character.
The fully-equipped kitchen has new convection oven, double sink, microwave, and new refrigerator. There is a dining table in the kitchen area, but the gentle breezes cooling the screened porch will make it a favourite place to enjoy the evening meal. A third option for dining is on the open deck off the Muskoka room, where there is an octagonal picnic table.
The living area of the cottage is spacious, with a couch and love seat. Satellite TV and a VCR are provided. A ceiling fan will ensure comfort on warmer days.
Much of the time will be spent by the water. The sun has sun for most of the day, as well as beautiful sunsets in the evening. The cottage has a sandy area on shore and a shallow entry into the lake. Due to the shallow depth of the bay, the water at LeGare’s Vila warms early in the spring. There is a firm, sandy bottom that reaches a depth of about four feet at the end of the dock and then very gradually becomes deeper. The waterfront can be enjoyed on the dock or on a second deck that is close to the lake.
Extra features at the cottage include a horseshoe pit on the large grassy lawn. A fire pit facing the lake will be popular. (Please bring your own firewood.) Or take the canoe or paddleboat out to enjoy the many bays and islands of Lake Manitouwaba.
Not far from the cottage is the Sequin Trail. This is a popular, multi-purpose trail that winds its way from Highway 69 to Highway 11, a distance of approximately 61 kilometres.
