Location: Diamond Lake, near Orrville, Ontario.

Hidden away, a short distance from the Seguin Trail, easily accessed by paved roads and only one kilometer from the small community of Orrville, is Little Diamond Cottage which sparkles with sunshine and is the picture of relaxation. Orrville has a handy general store which has everything you need in case you forget or run out of something, and a community center that houses a library for rainy day books, DVDs, and internet access.

The cottage has potable well water, a forced air propane furnace, and is accessed from a level driveway. A few steps lead up to a new deck that extends along two sides of the building, and a door leads from here into the kitchen and the main level of the cottage.

The cheerful, well-equipped kitchen, with its table for six, opens to a living area with view of the lake, a ceiling fan, and a lovely upright piano. Here, there is seating for six on comfortable furniture. The propane space heater will take the chill off cooler summer evenings. Large patio doors open to the deck and provide a fabulous view over pretty Diamond Lake. Also on this level is a bedroom with a double bed and a ceiling fan which will add to your comfort on warm summer nights. A four-piece bathroom completes this level.

Steps lead from the main level to the lower level which has a patio door that opens to the level yard facing the lake. In the large rec. room there is a small sitting area with a queen sized pull-out couch and there is also a six-person table that provides a second option for eating or game-playing. Also on this level there are two additional bedrooms; each has a double bed with small windows, one facing the lake and the other facing the yard. There is also a three-piece bathroom with shower on this level.

Relax outside on the well-built deck, with its propane barbeque and patio furniture, while enjoying the views of the water and the cooling breeze. The deck faces south-west, providing sun throughout the day. For a shady spot, sit under the umbrella at the table or relax in comfortable chairs.

A level yard leads down a very gentle, grassy slope to the lake. Here there is a sandy beach with a shallow entry and firm sandy bottom which the children will enjoy. The beach faces west and lends itself to wonderful sunset views. A table and umbrella in the beach area will add to your comfort, and a fire pit near the water will complete the experience once darkness comes. One square-back canoe/rowboat and one canoe are provided for exploring the quiet lake. With only about ten cottages on the lake, there is little boat traffic. There are wild areas to investigate, a good chance of seeing wildlife and an opportunity to do some fishing.

Little Diamond Cottage is about twenty minutes from Parry Sound, with its grocery stores, quaint shops and restaurants, the West Parry Sound District Museum, the Bobby Orr Hall of Fame, golf courses, and the nearby Sequin Trail. Both the Festival of the Sound (held towards the end of July), and the Charles W. Stockey Center for the Performing Arts provide an option of live entertainment. Fine dining can be experienced at the nearby five-star Log Cabin Restaurant. For an extra special excursion, explore the many islands of Georgian Bay on an Island Queen cruise from the wharf in Parry Sound.

Whether it is relaxation or entertainment that you are seeking, you won't be disappointed!
