This newly-built executive-style cottage sits majestically on a rock outcropping overlooking a quiet and secluded bay of Maple Lake. There is plenty of room for your family, with two bedrooms on the main floor and a master retreat on the second floor. The kitchen, dining and living rooms flow together and have a spectacular view of the lake. A large, afternoon sun-drenched deck is accessible through sliding doors from the dining room. Off the kitchen is a breakfast room that is fully screened to take advantage of cool breezes on warm summer days. The living room has a propane fireplace to warm body and soul in the colder weather.
The cottage is furnished in a casual but elegant style, with plenty of seating and hardwood floors throughout. There are two stools at the kitchen island, four comfortable chairs at the dining table, seating for six in the breakfast room and a large sofa with two easy chairs in the living room. On the main floor, one bedroom offers a double bed, the other has twin bunks, and a four-piece bathroom is nearby. The master bedroom retreat on the upper level offers a queen-size bed. A balcony, accessed through sliding glass doors, overlooks the deck below and provides a wonderful view of the lake beyond. The elegant three-piece bathroom with a glass shower completes the upper level.
On the lower level of the cottage, accessed from outside, there is a four-person sauna and a shower.
A staircase leads from the deck level to the dock, which is large enough for a 16 ft boat. A ladder is provided for getting in and out of the water. For non-swimmers there is a shallow-water entry to the right of the dock. If you wish to explore, take the canoe, or go out in the paddleboat for lazy sightseeing. Please be aware Sea-doo's are not allowed on the lake. Trout, bass and perch abound if you like to fish. The cottage also has a outdoor firepit for roasting marshmallows.
The drive to Maple Lake Cottage from the north end of Toronto takes about two hours on good roads. Within walking distance of the cottage is the general store in Orrville, which has anything you need in case you forget or run out of something. Also in Orrville is a community centre that houses a library for those rainy day books. A short distance from the cottage is a sandy beach with a set of swings for the children.
There are three golf courses within 20 minutes. Also close by is the town of Parry Sound with its Thirty-thousand Islands Boat Cruise, The Charles Stockey Centre for Performing Arts, The Festival of the Sound that runs for three weeks in July/August, The Bobby Orr Hall of Fame, and boutique shopping. Fine dining can be experienced at the nearby five-star Log Cabin Restaurant.
