Isabella Island F178
Georgian Bay , Parry Sound, Ontario.
This rustic cottage is located on the shores of Georgian Bay and is the ideal getaway for anglers. Isabella Island can be reached in ten minutes by boat from Parry Sound. Cottagers with their own boat can launch at Glen Burney Marina, and those needing to take a water taxi to the island can leave from Holiday Cove Marina.
This 1400 sq foot bungalow cottage has four bedrooms, all located on the main level. The main bedroom has a queen-sized bed. The second and third bedrooms have a double bed and two single beds, respectively. The fourth bedroom has a bunk bed that is double on the bottom and single on the top rack. All bedrooms have sliding doors, except the main bedroom that has a wooden door. The main bedroom is at the opposite end of the house than the other three bedrooms and is the most quiet and private room. All of the bedrooms have carpet flooring. One three-piece bathroom with a shower is located near the three bedrooms.
There are two living rooms in this cottage. The main one is located next to the open-concept kitchen and dining room. The second living room is near the other end of the cottage, by the main bedroom, and includes a television and VCR. This living room is excellent for children.
You step out from the main living room onto a deck that overlooks the large bay. This deck is partially shaded and has a pop-up screened gazebo with patio furniture. The view from this deck is beautiful and if you are up early enough you may see the sunrise.
There is 550-ft of water frontage. The waterfront includes a 30-ft dock that can handle a boat on either side and there is a ladder off the end of the dock for swimming. There is also a small sandy beach that allows you to gradually walk into the water. The shoreline is rocky and uneven, which is characteristic of the Georgian Bay area, so the cottage may not be ideal for elders with reduced mobility or younger children.
Georgian Bay provides excellent boating and fishing opportunities. Anglers frequently fish in the bay that this cottage is located on, and fish can be caught directly from the dock. Pike, pickerel and bass are among the fish in the area.
There is a fire pit at the front of the cottage that overlooks the bay and can be used by guests.
Attractions in Parry Sound include; musical entertainment at the Stockey Centre for the Performing Arts in Parry Sound, The Bobby Orr Hall of Fame, golfing and there are many restaurants to dine at along the waterfront, including one at Down the Bay Resort.
