Just one hour north of Canada's Wonderland, this beautiful, clean cottage is on Bass Lake just minutes from Orillia. With a double wide lot and 150 feet of frontage, this is the ideal family retreat or quiet relaxing vacation away from home.
The cottage is fully equipped with comfortable furnishings and a recently renovated kitchen. The open concept cottage offers kitchen, living room, dining room, sitting area, and three bedrooms. The sitting area offers a great view of the lake. The living room is a great area for the whole family to gather at the end of the day or to watch a movie. Here you will also find a large stone wood burning fireplace to take the chill off cooler evenings.
The master bedroom is spacious and offers a queen bed. The second bedroom has two single beds, and the third bedrooms two single bed and a crib. There two bathrooms located close by; the first is a four-piece and the second a three-piece.
The kitchen offers a fridge, counter top stove, microwave and dishwasher. The island with bar stools offers seating for four allowing everyone to be a part of the action without being in the way.
The large dining table offers seating for eight, and a lovely view of the lake with glass windows across the entire area. Exit through the sliding doors from the dining room or kitchen onto a large deck that stretches across the width of the cottage.
Follow the path from the deck down to a flat grassy area for a game of Frisbee or soccer. Located close by is a firepit near the water's edge that is great for toasting marshmallows and enjoying a campfire sing song.
The waterfront has two docks that allow little ones to splash in the sandy shallow bay for hours close to the shore, while older children can wade out for 50 feet as it remains fairly shallow. Watershoes are optional however, there are zebra mussels in the lake. Bass Lake is a quiet lake and perfect for canoeing, windsurfing and water skiing (rentals are available close by). The cottage comes with a canoe, paddles and windsurf boats plus large rafts for lounging.
A gorgeous guesthouse is located right beside the water with a king size bed, and a two-piece bathroom offering a little bit of paradise. Step out through the French doors onto a deck at the lakefront with room for furniture to sit and relax while watching the children swim and play. Here you can experience fantastic sunsets from the deck. (The guesthouse is only available May - October)
Orillia and area has a lot to offer. For those who like to shop, Winners, Wal-Mart and Zellers are only a few minutes away. Stroll the streets of downtown Orillia, sample the famous butter tarts at "Wilkie's Bakery" and visit the Mariposa Market or the many quaint shops, take in a performance at the Orillia Opera House, try your luck at Casino Rama, or walk and bike (two mountain bikes provided) on the trails. In the winter there are cross-country ski trails, snowmobile trails, and nearby downhill skiing available at Horseshoe Resort and Mount St. Louis Moonstone. You can also cross-country ski on the lake, or clear a patch of ice for skating, just outside your lakeside door.
