If your family wants to visit north Muskoka for ski, snow-board, x-ski, snowmobiling, or other winter sports, the Round House is the perfect place to stay. Round House is a gem of a chalet, conveniently located close to the Hidden Valley Ski Hills, as well as Algonquin and Arrowhead Park.
This totally unique four-season retreat is made of three connected round pods. The open concept design shows off the main pod brilliantly with a round wall of windows enhancing the view of the living room furnished with armchairs, wood stove, and television. To one side is the dining set, seating four. On the opposite side is a fully functional kitchen complete with dishwasher, fridge, stove and four bar stools facing the range. The living area is carpeted, and the kitchen area is hardwood.
The three-bedroom chalet sleeps six. The master bedroom has a queen bed, spacious closet and ensuite four-piece bath with heated floor. The second bedroom has a double bed. The third bedroom has a queen bed. There is an additional main four-piece bathroom with heated ceramic floor.
A large screened entry way is great for putting all your gear at the end of a fun packed day. There is a large new deck on the back of the house which offers a view of the forest, where you might even see some wildlife.
In the winter, the Round House can be used as a base, where down hill skiing at Hidden Valley is less than a kilometre away. Arrowhead park is several kilometres away for cross country skiing, snowshoeing or tubing. Rockridge tubing park is not far away either. There are lots of activities to keep you busy year round.
Although the house is not waterfront, it is located in the midst of many of Muskoka's many splendours and is available for all four seasons. In the summer, take the one-minute drive to the private access community beach. It features a change house, a lovely sandy beach and a boat launch to connect you to four of Muskoka's most beautiful lakes. For those bringing their own boat Huntsville is a short boat ride for lunch, fine dining, theatre, music, and shopping.
In spring, summer and fall, within a three-minute drive, enjoy one of four top notch golf courses... one designed by Mark O'Meara and played by the PGA!
World-renowned Algonquin Park, about 30 minutes down the road, is available for year-round visits where you will see all number of wildlife; take hiking trails; and canoe into the interior. In the autumn, you can enjoy the fall colours as you trek through the woods. All in all, the Round House is waiting for your group to settle in for some fine action on the slopes or other recreational outdoor activity.
