Nestled among the trees and still a short drive to Huntsville, this three-bedroom cottage is located on the Big East River. The large beach spans the river front, where children can build sandcastles with the white sand, while you relax. The beautiful shallow, sandy-bottom water is perfect for younger children. Or enjoy a campfire in the evening.
At the cottage entrance, the hallway opens to a living room and dining room combination. This room features cathedral ceilings with floor-to-ceiling windows on one side looking out to the riverfront. The living room features flagstone walls. There is older carpeting throughout the cottage. Enjoy your meals in the dining room area, or step out onto the stone patio complete with a BBQ and a patio table, for dining outside. The fully equipped and renovated kitchen contains a stainless steel fridge, stove and microwave, along with an eat-in family nook.
The main level offers a guest bedroom with a double bed. On the main floor there is also a laundry room with newer washer and dryer and a large renovated four-piece washroom.
Upstairs a loft overlooks the living room, where there is a television and DVD player, board games and a foosball table. The master bedroom offers a queen bed, and a second guest bedroom offers a bunk with single on top and bottom. There is also a two-piece bathroom on the second floor.
The meandering Big East River flows from Algonquin Park through to Arrowhead Park and connects with various lakes in the area. At the cottage, the river is about 1-2 feet deep at the deepest during the summer.
One of the area attractions is Arrowhead Park which offers activities all year round including hiking, biking, canoeing, swimming and kayaking in the summer or skating, snowshoeing, or cross-country skiing in the winter.
There are many other attractions in Huntsville, which is less than 10 minutes away, with shopping, restaurants and live theatre, along with any other amenities needed.
