Location: Whalley Lake in Magnetawan, ON

Whalley’s Way cottage is a great place to unwind and enjoy a relaxing holiday on a quiet lake just north of Muskoka, near Magnetawan. The  property is reasonably private and has a mix of level, grassy areas and gently sloping, hardwood forest as well as a deck and patio offering a mix of sun and shade during the day.

Upon entering this charming and quaint three-bedroom cottage, there is a glassed-in reading room, and gathering spot to the left, complete with board games and books. A few steps beyond is a well-outfitted kitchen with a view of the games room and beyond. Adjacent to the kitchen are the living room and dining areas that will seat 8 people. Relax and take in the satisfying comfort of your surroundings and enjoy the view.  A small deck off the living room faces the water and offers a great spot to viewing many species of birds and other wildlife.

The layout of the cottage has an easy-going, pleasing feel, furnished with a mix of rustic, traditional and antique furniture. This is a single level cottage allowing easy access to all rooms. The main bedroom has a double bed and two single bunks. The second and third bedrooms each have double beds. There is a large four-piece bathroom off the kitchen.

The gently sloping yard is a natural playground, complete with small rock fountain, patio and fire pit. There are 35 widely spaced, low profile steps leading to the shoreline. The shore is natural, with course sand, pebbles and lily pads and the lake bottom is firm sand.  The end of the dock is lily pad free and the best spot for swimmers to enter the water. The beach has another fire pit plus a superb view of the vast, open sky for star gazing enthusiasts. A canoe and rowboat are provided for exploring the lake, making water adventures effortless and inviting. A row around the perimeter of the lake will showcase the many interesting inlets and coves.

Whalley’s Way is an attractive and enchanting little getaway, a truly comfortable and relaxed atmosphere to unplug and unwind. This is a terrific cottage for those who prefer a peaceful, easy holiday with its mixture of open and wooded spaces for children young and old to explore the myriad charms of the great outdoors.

**Paper products: The cottage will provide enough to get you started, but vacationers must supply their own, including toilet paper and paper towels.

**Guests must bring firewood.  Please buy locally.**

**Adult life jackets are supplied. Vacationers must bring their own children's life jackets due to safety and liability concerns.
