The sweet smell of a cottage-cooked meal, water lapping against the shore, Dad snoring from the swinging hammock, and the gleeful laughter of children’s play. Nothing fancy, nothing out of the ordinary, and nothing short of extraordinary.
Stepping through the doors of this cottage is like stepping into the nostalgia of your favourite memories. Cozy up in the family room and choose from one of the provided movies and games. The large windows and beautiful pine ceilings of this sweet little haven bring the charm of nature right in. The open-concept living room and kitchen is the perfect place to let the carefree chatter ring, and you can plant yourself right in the middle by sitting at the raised counter. Gather at the table and let family conversation fill the air as you pass the meal around. When dinner’s done, there’s a dishwasher rinse away all your worries. If you need to get away by yourself, there is an extra sitting room, complete with a TV and VCR. Out in front of the cottage, there is a screened-in porch.
There are three bedrooms complete with carpet flooring. The master bedroom features a queen and the second bedroom has a double. The third bedroom is great for the kids with a single bed and a set of bunk beds. The three-piece bathroom has a tub and shower.
Just outside, there is a lovely deck with a barbeque and a Muskoka chair. Across the small lane way, there’s a great grassy area for a game of catch. A picnic table can host a Crazy 8’s tournament over a barbequed lunch. And of course, there’s the hammock nestled in the trees. Down at the waterfront, the dock gets sun from noon to sunset. Enjoy swimming out to the floating dock where the water is 10ft deep. A paddleboat and a canoe can be taken around the quiet lake for some smallmouth bass fishing. Children can play on the small sandy beach and splash in the three-feet-deep water. At the end of the day, the fire pit can keep you toasty warm up as you recall a familiar campfire tune.
Relax and let go. With a comfy cabin to sleep in, simple watercraft, a sun-drenched dock, and the gently beckoning hammock, you’ll be happy and you’ll know it, clap your hands.
