Sweetgrass Country House is a four-bedroom, three-bathroom masterpiece situated on a beautifully landscaped private property with extensive stonework, lakeside fire pit and a 100 ft stretch of waterfront. A ravine beside the property provides extra privacy & space. Offering a bright, open-concept living space with south-facing wide lake views from the huge deck, the cottage also features large stone fireplaces located in both the main living space and the basement recreation room. Vacationers will not want to leave this hidden gem.
Entering the front door, guests first experience the open and spacious grand appeal of this rustic-modern masterpiece. The first bedroom located on the main level offers a king bed complete with a three-piece ensuite. This bedroom boasts a beautiful view of Peninsula Lake and a walkout balcony where sunlit mornings are best enjoyed. Further along the hallway is an additional three-piece bathroom as well as two additional roomy bedrooms with a double bed in one, and a single over double bunk in the third.
The centre piece of Sweetgrass Country House is the open living and dining room equipped with a floor-to-ceiling wood burning fireplace, hardwood floors, and large windows allowing natural light throughout. This beautifully decorated space offers the best view overlooking the lake and gives vacationers a chance to enjoy and take in the cottage's peaceful surroundings. This room contains one couch and two chairs for lounging by the large stone fireplace and enjoying family time or nestled in with a good book and a glass of wine. Just off the dining room through sliding reclaimed barn wood doors you will find a comfortable TV room with a large couch and oversized lounge chair, complete with a flat-screen TV perfect for movie nights.
Just off to the main entrance and open to the living room is the kitchen and dining area. The large dining table seats eight comfortably and guests can take advantage of the kitchen's three bar chairs for extra seating. The kitchen is equipped with a showpiece island with stunning granite countertop and all new stainless-steel appliances; a fridge, stove, microwave, dishwasher and all materials needed for meal preparation, cooking and presentation of that much anticipated evening meal with the family. The sliding patio doors in the living room open to a large deck where the barbeque and four-person patio set, two lounge chairs for sunbathing and an additional four-person picnic table are located. Much like the living room, this is an extension of the breath-taking lakeside views that the cottage provides.
Sweetgrass Country House also contains a walkout lower level to the waterfront below, where the fourth bedroom containing one queen and one double-sized bed can be found in addition to a third three-piece bathroom. Downstairs is where all the fun happens: the recreation room features a ping-pong table, shuffleboard, darts, and comfortable seating for spectators as well as a bar to keep your beverages ready. The lower level walkout is where you will find the hot tub, beneath the covered patio, able to be enjoyed in all seasons.
A short walk down the level stone staircase to the waterfront leads to an ideal swimming and activity area with four classic Muskoka chairs and a firepit for evening wind-down time. The depth of the water at the end of the dock is 5ft, and gradually gets deeper from this point. Provided with the rental of Sweetgrass Country House is the use of 2 Stand up Paddle Boards, 2 Kayaks and 1 Canoe for waterfront activities.
Enjoy all seasons here at the cottage, with boat access right to downtown Huntsville, a 4 chain lake system, & Hidden Valley Ski Resort across the lake.
