The main dining area is open to the kitchen and living room and contains a wall of windows allowing natural light to bounce off the room and bring life and the cottage feel to the space. The dining table seats six people and is a great space for the whole family to gather and laugh at stories from the fun filled day!
Outdoors facing the water, a large deck wraps around the
house. This deck provides a great area for sitting and enjoying the scenery. On the deck is a natural gas barbecue and picnic table with umbrella offering shade. Because the deck is so large it serves as a great area for spending time with everyone while offering a lovely sunset view perfectly matched with an outdoor dinner and evening drinks.
The waterfront offers a shallow entry and walk-out several hundred feet, providing a safe area for children. The cottage is on the sandy side of Lake Couchiching which is very shallow. Lake Couchiching is 16 kilometers long, and about 5 kilometers wide; the lake is well known for its fishing in the summer as well as winter
ice fishing. The 140-foot dock is about three feet deep at the end with a ladder for easy access into the lake. The cottage’s eastern exposure provides sun for cottagers to enjoy all day long out on the dock.
Probably the very best thing about this cottage is its easy hour-and-a-half’s drive from Toronto. It’s truly a home away from home.
